Dee Houston
Dee was born and raised in Jonesboro, Georgia and graduated from Morrow High School in 1991. Dee accepted Jesus Christ as her Savoir at the age of eleven at Refuge Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Ga. She and her husband, Marty, were married in 1998 and now live in Grantville, Ga. They have four children: Breanna, Bryson, Braylee and Brooklynn. Most of their spare time is spent at some sort of ball field or dance class. In her spare time (which is very little), Dee simply enjoys scrap booking or just spending time with her friends and family.
They joined Faith in 1999 and have been involved in several ministries throughout the years. Dee considers it a blessing to work in the Children’s Ministry at Faith. She oversees the Children’s Sunday School Classes, Nursery, Children’s Church and Junior Church as well as seasonal events such as Easter Play, Camp Truth or any special conferences. She states that the dedication of the workers in the children’s ministries is simply unbelievable in this church. Dee has spent the last ten years in the child care field and joined the staff in 2008 as the Children’s Ministry Director.
Working with children has been her passion for many years. They are so willing and eager to learn, giving her blessings way beyond what they will ever know is the motivation that keeps her going. Her favorite Bible verse is Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
